Painting with Parkinsons – Botanic Gardens
26/08/2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Friday, repeating until 16/12/2022
*** Places available*** This innovative art therapy program is designed specifically for people living with Parkinson’s and has been running continuously at the Botanic Gardens since 1994. There is no requirement to be proficient in art and rather than being taught or directed, the unique methodology supports participants to become absorbed in their own work which results in beautiful, individual artworks.
Sessions may include music, poetry, literary readings, meditation and gentle exercises to warm up prior to painting. Classical, instrumental or meditative music is played in the background to enhance the creative process, often described as ‘flow’. All materials are provided.
$10 contribution per session
